Insurance Tips for June
1) Mid-Year Check-In: Almost Half of 2026 Is Behind Us
Almost half of 2026 is behind us. We’re here to help you plan for the rest of 2026—whether that includes buying a new car or home, getting a teenager ready for the road, or moving a teenager to college in the Fall
2) Review Your Policies Mid-Year
Life changes can happen fast. Take a few minutes to confirm:
Your coverage amounts still match your needs
Your deductibles still make sense
Your beneficiaries are correct (especially after life events)
Your address/vehicle details are up to date
3) New Car or New Home? Update Coverage ASAP
If you bought or plan to buy:
A new car: confirm the policy matches the exact vehicle (year/make/model, VIN if applicable) and review comprehensive/collision
A new home: check that your dwelling coverage and personal property coverage are appropriate for current replacement costs
Tip: Don’t wait for the renewal date—coverage should match the asset as soon as ownership changes.
4) Teen Driver Safety & Insurance Readiness
Summer means more driving. Before they log extra miles:
Encourage a safe driving plan (speed limits, no distractions, curfew)
Ask about available discounts (driver safety course, Drive, Safe & Save, good student
Confirm coverage for the teen on the policy to avoid gaps
5) Looking forward to Fall College: Expect Changes to Coverage Needs
As your teen heads to college, insurance needs often shift:
If they bring belongings, check coverage for personal items (and whether it’s covered under your current policy or a separate arrangement)
Review how your plan handles theft, loss, and liability
Make sure you understand what happens if they’re away for the semester
6) Test Your Emergency Plan
A simple step that helps later:
Save your policy documents and agent/contact info
Confirm claims steps in advance
Keep key numbers handy (especially for auto or homeowners emergencies)
7) Don’t Forget “Small” Life Updates
Even minor changes can matter:
New phone/laptop purchases
Wedding, move, job change
Major renovations
Drivers added/removed from auto policies
